4.7.11 – snow canyon state park – whiterocks

Laura and I traveled just outside of St. George to Snow Canyon State Park. This park is a lesser known but beautiful spot. It includes varied geography and geology, including a lava field, standard high desert stuff, and a couple waterfalls. There are multiple trails, but, just like in my Zion post, we decided to go easy. The Whiterocks Trail is a bit over a mile round trip in and back with little elevation gain, but gives wonderful views of these interesting sandstone formations, as well as the lava field and the park as a whole. Keep an eye out for peregrine falcons as well! We saw a few.
